Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Use govern your use of the website recogift.com and the gift-recommendation service operated by Smart Soft Solution OÜ, Tallinn, Estonia ("we", "us", "Recogift"). By accessing or using the service you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may publish supplementary rules (for example a Privacy Policy or an Affiliate Disclosure) which form part of these Terms.

What Recogift provides

Recogift is an editorial gift-discovery tool. You answer a short questionnaire and we return a curated shortlist of gift ideas with written reasoning behind the picks.

Recommendations are informational only. They are not professional advice and do not constitute an offer to sell. Availability, pricing and product details are set exclusively by the third-party merchants we link to.

Accounts, fees, and minimum age

Use of the service is free of charge. You can use the gift finder without registering; your answers and shortlist are then stored locally in your browser. Optionally, you can create a free user account to save your reports permanently. The service is intended for adult users; you must be at least 16 years old to use Recogift on your own (Art. 8 GDPR). Younger users may only use the service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Affiliate links

Some outbound product links on Recogift may be affiliate links. If you click such a link and complete a purchase with the merchant, we may receive a commission. The price you pay does not change.

Affiliate participation does not influence our editorial selection. Details, partner programs and how to opt out of related logging are described in the Affiliate Disclosure and the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service — for example by attempting to circumvent rate limits, scraping content for commercial resale, reverse-engineering the recommendation engine, or interfering with other users. We may limit, suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached.

Intellectual property

All editorial copy, layouts, graphics, the wordmark and the recommendation logic are owned by Recogift or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and share individual reports for personal, non-commercial purposes; any other use requires our prior written consent.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that recommendations will fit a specific recipient, that linked products will remain in stock, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for damage arising from injury to life, body, or health, and under mandatory product liability law. Otherwise, for simple negligence our liability is limited to the breach of essential contractual duties and to the typical, foreseeable damage, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Mandatory consumer-protection rights remain unaffected.

Availability and changes to the service

We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, especially for security, maintenance or legal reasons. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes when feasible.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our service or applicable law changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. The version published at the time of your use applies. We announce material changes here in good time; we do not infer implied consent to disadvantageous changes from continued use alone.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and your use of the service are governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence (Art. 6 Rome I Regulation).

If you act as a business or legal entity, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Recogift's registered seat in Tallinn, Estonia. As a consumer, you may bring proceedings against us — and may be sued — in the courts of your place of residence; your right to turn to the courts or consumer dispute-resolution bodies of your country of residence remains unaffected.
